Car theft is a growing concern for many residents in Chipping Barnet. With almost 2,000 incidents reported over the last four years, it’s clear that stronger action is needed to protect people’s property and peace of mind.

Life in the suburbs often relies on car ownership, and for many, a car represents hard work and independence. No one should have to live in fear of their vehicle being stolen. After hearing from constituents during the election, I made it a priority to address this issue head-on.

In recent months I have been discussing this issue with residents, police, industry leaders, businesses, and government, and will bring them all together later this year at a car theft summit to find practical solutions and accelerate efforts to combat vehicle theft. I am pleased to announce that Dame Diana Johnson MP, the Minister for Crime, Fire and Policing, will join us.

I remain committed to working with all stakeholders to protect our community and deliver real change. If you have experienced car theft or want to contribute to this effort, I encourage you to get involved and share your views.
