No resident should fear their car being stolen from their own driveway. With 574 vehicle thefts in 2023, our area has one of London’s highest rates, so I’ve developed a comprehensive four-point plan targeting a 25% reduction in car theft in Chipping Barnet by 2028.
Thanks to my work with local and national police, experts, manufacturers, and residents, this government is introducing new laws criminalising theft devices, the local police have delivered focused police operations resulting in 40 arrests and 20 recovered vehicles with funding I secured for them, and I’ve connected local police with national experts to systematically tackle organised criminal gangs.
