Job Title: Senior Caseworker
Working For: Dan Tomlinson (MP for Chipping Barnet)
Location: Chipping Barnet
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 FTE
Hours: Two days per week (15 hours/week)
Contract: One year fixed term contract initially (with possibility of extension)

This is a great opportunity to be part of the team working for Dan Tomlinson MP in Chipping Barnet. This part-time Senior Caseworker will oversee the strategy and culture of our casework team. We want someone who can ensure that our casework processes are effective and efficient, who can manage and support our other caseworkers really well, and who can spot opportunities for proactive local initiatives that create real change for constituents, and deliver projects that arise from that. We anticipate that much of this Senior Caseworker’s time will be spent on day-to-day casework, outside of supporting the casework team with the most serious and complex cases. They won’t regularly do policy casework, but given that our current Caseworkers do a mix of local and policy casework, the Senior Caseworker will also ensure (alongside the Office Manager) that our policy casework remains on track.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the team’s local casework process and make it more effective and efficient
- Manage and support the rest of the casework team
- Look for opportunities to create wider change locally and lead new initiatives
- Support with the most complex and severe local cases
- Ensure that the team’s policy casework process is efficient and stays on track
Required & desirable skills
Required:
- Ability to lead a team with clear strategy and efficiency

- Proactive research and problem-solving skills
- Desire to continuously learn and develop
- Clear written and oral communication skills
- Alignment with the values and priorities of the Labour Party
Desirable:
- Previous experience of doing casework
- Understanding of the Chipping Barnet area
- Interest in thinking creatively about structural change in the local area
