Dan Tomlinson is looking for a highly capable and driven leader to join as Head of Office. This person will work closely with Dan to develop and execute a strategy for a better Chipping Barnet as well as being a support to Dan in his role as Growth Minister.
We want to go beyond typical MP visits and campaigns and think strategically and creatively about how to make the biggest positive difference we can to the lives of people in Chipping Barnet and beyond.
The successful candidate will need to be capable of delivering ambitious strategies and leading effective teams, with a deep commitment to serving communities.
About Dan
Dan has been the Member of Parliament for Chipping Barnet since 2024. He was appointed as a Minister in September 2025, taking the role of Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury. Initially responsible for HMRC and tax policy, his portfolio is currently focused on generating economic growth, working across the Treasury and the Cabinet Office.
Dan has previously worked as an economist in the Treasury, at the Resolution Foundation and at the Joseph Rowntree foundation, focusing on improving living standards for all, particularly low- and middle-income families who faced stagnating economic conditions in recent decades.

Job description – Head of Office
- Work with Dan on the team’s overall strategy and priorities and ensure that the team are delivering on these day-to-day.
- Build a high-performance culture to ensure that the team are delivering change for Chipping Barnet, and a high wellbeing culture to ensure they can do so sustainably.
- Manage key team members working across casework, communications, administration, parliamentary and local action roles.
- Build and maintain systems and processes that ensure effective progress across all workstreams.
- Support Dan as he undertakes his parliamentary and ministerial roles.
- Take on leadership of several local projects, in partnership with CB:CAN where appropriate.
- Work with Dan to manage financial and HR processes to ensure that all public resources are being used effectively to make a difference for the people of Chipping Barnet.

Desirable

The salary for this position will be £45,000-£60,000 per annum.
